Maha Kumbh Nashik 2027 — Simhastha
The Nashik Simhastha Kumbh Mela 2027 will be held at the ancient city of Trimbakeshwar, where the holy Godavari river originates at the feet of the sacred Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga — one of the 12 divine Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. The Simhastha Kumbh occurs every 12 years when Jupiter (Brihaspati) enters the Leo (Simha) zodiac sign.
Millions of pilgrims converge on the sacred Kushavarta Kund — the holy tank where Godavari originates — and the Ramkund Ghat at Nashik for the sacred Amrit Snan. The Mela spans the Shravan and Bhadrapada months (July–September 2027), with multiple Shahi Snan dates of immense spiritual significance.
Kumbh Ganga Retreat is located at Ghoti Trimbak Road, just 3 km from Trimbakeshwar Temple — perfectly positioned for pilgrims seeking premium comfort while staying close to the sacred Kund. Our luxury tents, sattvic cuisine and guided Snan services ensure a divine and dignified experience.

Akharas & Naga Sadhus of Nashik Kumbh
The Nashik Simhastha Kumbh Mela 2027 brings together 13 Akharas — ancient monastic orders — and thousands of Naga Sadhus for one of the world's largest religious gatherings.
How to Reach Nashik Kumbh Mela 2027
Nashik-Trimbakeshwar is well connected by air, rail and road — here is how pilgrims from across India and abroad reach the Simhastha Kumbh Mela 2027.
Ozar Airport (IATA: ISK), Nashik's own airport, is ~25 km from Kumbh Ganga Retreat with domestic flights from Mumbai, Delhi & Hyderabad. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, Mumbai, is ~180 km — the nearest international gateway, with taxis, buses and additional flights expected during peak Kumbh Mela 2027 dates.
Nashik Road Railway Station connects to Mumbai, Pune, Delhi & major cities, roughly 8–10 km from Kumbh Ganga Retreat. Expect IRCTC special Kumbh Mela trains and extra coaches around each Shahi Snan / Amrit Snan date — check the official IRCTC timetable closer to 2027.
Mumbai to Nashik is ~165 km (3.5 hrs) via the Mumbai-Nashik Highway (NH160); Pune to Nashik is ~210 km (4 hrs). MSRTC buses, private cabs and self-drive cars are all popular — expect traffic advisories and diversions near Trimbakeshwar on Shahi Snan dates.
Private vehicles are typically restricted near the bathing ghats during peak Shahi Snan hours; outer ring parking with shuttle/e-rickshaw services is arranged by the Kumbh Mela Committee. Kumbh Ganga Retreat offers pickup & drop assistance for guests on request.
Nashik Kumbh Mela 2027 Frequently Asked Questions
The three confirmed Amrit Snan (Shahi Snan) dates are 2 August 2027 (Ashadh Somvati Amavasya), 31 August 2027 (Shravan Amavasya — the principal Royal Bath), and 11–12 September 2027 (Bhadrapada Shuddha Ekadashi) — Vaishnava Akharas bathe at Ramkund on the 11th, Shaiva Akharas at Kushavarta Kund, Trimbakeshwar, on the 12th.
The Dhwajarohan flag-hoisting ceremony, marking the formal start of Nashik-Trimbakeshwar Simhastha Kumbh Mela, is held on 31 October 2026 at the Akhara camps. The Mela concludes with the flag-lowering ceremony on 24 July 2028.
Nashik is about 165 km (3.5 hours) from Mumbai via the Mumbai-Nashik Highway (NH160), and about 210 km (4 hours) from Pune. MSRTC buses, private cabs and special Kumbh Mela trains connect both cities to Nashik Road Railway Station, roughly 8–10 km from Kumbh Ganga Retreat.
Indian Railways typically runs special Kumbh Mela trains and extra coaches to Nashik Road station around peak Shahi Snan dates — check IRCTC closer to the Amrit Snan dates for the official special-train schedule.
13 Akharas (monastic orders) take part — Shaiva Akharas bathe at Kushavarta Kund, Trimbakeshwar, and Vaishnava (Vairagi) Akharas bathe at Ramkund, Panchavati. Naga Sadhus lead the sacred Shahi Snan procession at both ghats.
Naga Sadhus camp at Akhara grounds near Tapovan and Ramkund in Nashik, and at Kushavarta Kund in Trimbakeshwar. The best time to see the Naga Sadhu procession is during the Shahi Snan / Amrit Snan dates, when Akharas walk in ceremonial order to the bathing ghats.
Besides Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga Temple and Kushavarta Kund, popular sightseeing spots include Brahmagiri Mountain, Anjneri Hill (birthplace of Lord Hanuman), Ram Kund & Panchavati, Pandav Lena Caves, Saptashrungi Devi Temple and Sula Vineyards.
The 2027 Kumbh Mela — known as Nashik Simhastha or Nashik-Trimbakeshwar Kumbh Mela — spans two sacred sites on the Godavari river in Maharashtra: Ramkund in Nashik city (Panchavati) and Kushavarta Kund in Trimbakeshwar, about 30 km apart.
Kalpavas is the month-long spiritual stay many pilgrims observe on the banks of the Godavari during Kumbh Mela — daily holy dips, prayers and simple living. Dedicated Kalpavas ritual grounds are set up near the main bathing ghats.
Yes — the Kumbh Mela Committee designates outer ring parking zones with shuttle services to the main ghats on Shahi Snan dates, since private vehicles are typically restricted from the inner pilgrimage zone on peak bathing days.
Beyond the three main Amrit Snan dates, pilgrims observe twenty other auspicious Normal Snan days across the Simhastha bathing season (17 July – 25 September 2027) — including Karka Sankranti, Guru Purnima, Nag Panchami, Shravan Purnima / Raksha Bandhan, Janmashtami, Ganesh Chaturthi and Bhadrapad Rushi Panchami on the Godavari ghats. Many pilgrims also perform Shraddha Puja and Pind Daan (ancestral rites) at Ramkund during the Punya Kaal, the astrologically auspicious bathing window, on these dates.
Nashik sees the tail of the monsoon through July–August 2027 (occasional rain, roughly 22–30°C) turning pleasant and mostly dry by September (20–32°C) — pack light rainwear for the earlier Amrit Snan dates. For local travel, auto-rickshaws and car rental services are readily available across Nashik city and near Trimbakeshwar, and Kumbh Ganga Retreat also arranges guest shuttles to the bathing ghats on Snan days.

What is Simhastha Kumbh?
Simhastha Kumbh Mela — known simply as "Simhastha" — is the Kumbh Mela held at the holy city of Ujjain on the banks of the sacred Kshipra (Shipra) River in Madhya Pradesh.
This Kumbh is unique because it takes place once every 12 years — specifically when the planet Jupiter (Brihaspati) enters the zodiac sign of Leo (Simha Rashi) and the Sun moves into Aries (Mesh Rashi). This rare astronomical alignment transforms Ujjain into the spiritual capital of the universe.
Ujjain is one of the seven sacred cities (Sapta Puri) of Hinduism — home to the revered Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga, one of the 12 holiest Shiva shrines in India. During Simhastha, millions of devotees, saints, Naga Sadhus, and seekers descend upon Ujjain for the sacred Amrit Snan (holy dip).
The last Simhastha was held in 2016. The next divine gathering, Simhastha 2028, is expected to draw over 5 crore (50 million) pilgrims from across the globe.
Sacred Bathing Dates 2028
The Shahi Snan (Royal Bath) dates are determined by precise planetary alignments. Bathing on these auspicious occasions is believed to grant moksha and wash away the sins of countless lifetimes.
* Exact dates are indicative and subject to final confirmation by the Ujjain Simhastha 2028 organizing committee based on Panchang calculations.
Ujjain — How to Reach
Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport, Indore — the nearest airport (55 km from Ujjain). International flights connect via Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru. Pre-paid taxi or accommodation shuttle to Ujjain in ~1 hour.

Ujjain is well-connected via NH 52. From Indore: 55 km (1 hr). From Bhopal: 184 km (3 hrs). From Ahmedabad: 402 km (6 hrs). From Delhi: 771 km (12 hrs). MP Tourism and private buses ply regularly.
Ujjain is located at 23.18°N, 75.77°E in Malwa Plateau, Madhya Pradesh. The Kshipra (Shipra) River flows through the city. Elevation: ~489 m above sea level.

- Supabase — secure database hosting for bookings, enquiries, and reviews.
- Razorpay — payment processing for online bookings. Card, UPI, and net-banking details are handled directly by Razorpay under RBI-compliant security standards; we never see or store your full payment credentials.
- EmailJS — delivering booking confirmation and enquiry emails.
- WhatsApp Business — for booking confirmations and support conversations you initiate.
- Cloudflare — website security, performance, and content delivery.
4. Cookies & Local Storage
This website uses your browser's local storage (not third-party tracking cookies) to remember in-progress bookings on your own device, so you don't lose your details if you navigate away mid-booking. This data stays on your device and is not shared with anyone beyond what you explicitly submit.
5. Data Retention
We retain booking and enquiry records for as long as reasonably necessary for accounting, legal, and customer-service purposes. You may request deletion of your personal data at any time, subject to records we are legally required to keep (e.g. financial transaction records).
6. Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information held by us at any time by writing to Info@kumbhgangaretreat.com. You may unsubscribe from newsletter emails using the link in any email, or by contacting us directly.
7. Children's Privacy
This website is intended for adults making travel and accommodation arrangements. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of kumbhgangaretreat.com and any bookings made through it, operated by Kanak Kalash & Group ("we", "us", "our"). By using this website or making a booking, you agree to these terms.
1. Bookings & Reservations
All bookings are subject to availability at the time of confirmation. A booking is confirmed once payment (in full or as a deposit, as specified at checkout) has been received and you receive a booking reference (e.g. KGR-XXXXXXXX) by email or WhatsApp. Standard check-in is 2:00 PM and check-out is 11:00 AM, subject to availability for early/late requests.
2. Pricing & Payment
Room rates vary by season (basic, normal, and peak Kumbh Mela periods) and are displayed at the time of booking. All prices are in Indian Rupees (₹) and are subject to applicable taxes (GST) unless otherwise stated. We accept payment via Razorpay (cards, UPI, net-banking), bank transfer, QR code, or offline arrangement confirmed via WhatsApp.
3. Cancellations & Refunds
Cancellation requests can be submitted through the "Find My Booking" tool on this website or by contacting us directly. Approved refunds are processed within 3–5 business days to the original payment method. Cancellation charges, if any, will be communicated at the time your cancellation is processed, and may vary depending on how close to your check-in date the request is made. See our full Cancellation & Refund Policy for the detailed schedule.
4. Guest Conduct
Guests are expected to treat our staff, property, and fellow pilgrims with respect. We reserve the right to refuse or discontinue service to any guest engaging in unlawful, unsafe, or disruptive behaviour, without refund, in accordance with applicable law.
5. Reviews & User Content
By submitting a review or other content through this website, you confirm it is your genuine experience and grant us the right to display it publicly on this site. We reserve the right to moderate, edit for length, or decline to publish any submitted review.
6. Intellectual Property
All text, images, and branding on this website are the property of Kanak Kalash & Group unless otherwise credited, and may not be reproduced without permission.
7. Third-Party Services & Links

This policy explains how cancellations, refunds, and rescheduling work for bookings made through kumbhgangaretreat.com or directly with Kumbh Ganga Retreat (operated by Kanak Kalash & Group). It applies alongside our Terms of Use.
1. How to Cancel
You can request a cancellation in any of these ways:
- Use the "Find My Booking" tool on this website with your booking reference (e.g. KGR-XXXXXXXX) and registered email/phone, then select Cancel.
- Email Info@kumbhgangaretreat.com with your booking reference.
- Call or WhatsApp our reservations team at +91 99366 33567.
A cancellation is only effective once you receive written confirmation (email or WhatsApp) from us — please don't assume a request has gone through until you see that confirmation.
2. Standard Cancellation Schedule
Outside of Amrit Snan / peak Kumbh Mela dates (see Section 3), the following applies from your scheduled check-in date:
- 7 or more days before check-in: Full refund, less any payment-gateway processing charges.
- 3–6 days before check-in: 50% refund.
- 0–2 days before check-in, or no-show: Non-refundable.
Approved refunds are processed within 3–5 business days to your original payment method (or original UPI/bank account for offline payments).
3. Amrit Snan & Peak-Period Bookings
Because rooms during the three Amrit Snan dates (2 August 2027, 31 August 2027, and 11–12 September 2027) and the surrounding peak Simhastha period are in exceptionally limited supply, bookings for these dates are non-refundable once confirmed. If you're unable to travel, we will do our best to help you rebook your stay for alternate dates (subject to availability) or transfer the booking to another guest — contact us as early as possible so we can explore these options.
4. Group & Long-Stay Bookings
Bookings of 4 rooms/beds or more, or stays of 7 nights or longer, may carry different deposit and cancellation terms. These will always be communicated to you in writing (email or WhatsApp) at the time of booking and take precedence over the standard schedule above.
5. Changes & Rescheduling
Requests to change dates, room type, or guest count are treated as a modification, not a cancellation, and carry no cancellation charge — subject to availability at the new dates and any difference in room rate. Requests made within 48 hours of check-in are handled on a best-effort basis and may not always be possible.
6. Cancellations Initiated By Us
In the rare event we must cancel a confirmed booking (for example, due to circumstances beyond our control), you will receive a 100% refund of amounts paid, or — if you prefer — help rebooking equivalent accommodation for alternate dates.
7. Force Majeure
If a stay cannot proceed due to events beyond either party's reasonable control — including government or administrative restrictions on Kumbh Mela access, natural disasters, or public health directives — we will work with you in good faith on a full or partial refund, rebooking, or credit toward a future stay, considered case by case.
8. Bookings Made Through Other Platforms
If you booked via Airbnb, MakeMyTrip, Booking.com, Goibibo, Cleartrip, Expedia, or another OTA, that platform's cancellation and refund policy applies instead of this page — please check your booking confirmation from that platform, or contact their support directly.
9. Contact Us
Questions about a specific cancellation or refund can be sent to Info@kumbhgangaretreat.com or +91 99366 33567 (24×7 concierge).
